Our centre conducts multidisciplinary research focused on agroecology, food and taste, and development in rural and periurban areas.  Its research is at the heart of society’s major concerns and the challenges of the future.

The Corsica Research Centre plays a major role in its region where it constitutes an asset that is well-regarded and respected by both the public authorities and local actors for its numerous contributions. It has a reputation for producing scientific knowledge of international utility as well as findings that address issues of importance to the region.  Through its many relationships on both shores of the Mediterranean, the Centre has an important and strategic role to play. Its scientific positioning is truly original with respect to the major changes currently under way, such as climate change, market differentiation, sustainable resource management, genetics, health challenges and partnership and participatory research.

With its two sites in Guadeloupe and Guiana, the Centre well represents the agri-environmental issues specific to island and continental conditions in tropical regions. Its teams are organised in multidisciplinary consortia which can respond to the regional challenges of reinforcing food and environmental safety under the innovative concept of science and impact. The vulnerability of tropical agroecosystems means that the Centre offers an excellent laboratory to analyse how the climate is changing in response to current planetary shifts, and most particularly the conversion of conventional to ecologically intensive agriculture. Through its policy of welcoming doctoral students and postdoctoral scientists, the Centre is also closely involved in training in and through research for young people in the Caribbean and intertropical regions.

Our centre conducts research programmes to acquire new knowledge and develop innovations for sustainable viticulture.

Our teams carry out research on the adaptation of forest, agricultural and urban ecosystems and soils to global changes, and the sustainable management of these territories. We are contributing to the ecological transition, producing plant and microorganism-based materials and biomolecules.

The teams in the Hauts-de-France centre conduct their work around two main research axes, the multi-performance of field crop systems for a sustainable bioeconomy, and the hygiene of agrifood processes.

INRAE, the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment, is a major player in research and innovation and the result of the merger between INRA and IRSTEA on January 1, 2020. INRAE ​​brings together a community of 11,500 people, with just over 200 research units and around forty experimental units located in 18 centres across France.

In an exceptional academic and scientific environment, the INRAE ​​Île-de-France - Jouy-en-Josas - Antony research centre conducts research on animal biology, microbiology, food sciences, waste management, continental waters and wastewater.

Located in a very diverse region rich in assets, not only geographically (relief, climate), but also economic and human, the Lyon-Grenoble Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is the latest INRAE centre to be created. In the Lyon and Grenoble metropolitan areas, and the Haute-Savoie department, INRAE units contribute to research activities at the Lyon-Saint-Etienne, Grenoble-Alpes, and Savoie Mont Blanc university sites.

With its research in integrative biology and sustainable management, its experimental capacities and nearly 800 staff members, including 632 permanent staff, the INRAE ​​Val de Loire centre conducts research around four axes: “Soil dynamics and environmental management” , "Integrative biology of trees and associated biodiversity for the sustainable management of forest ecosystems", "Integrative animal biology, sustainability of farming systems", "Infectiology and One Health". These areas of research are spread over four sites: Orléans, Tours, Nogent-sur-Vernisson and Bourges.
